I am trained as a nurse and I teach English to adults who speak other languages. I am being trained to teach English better at Temple University.

I teach adult English learners. Since 2018 I have been teaching at GROW Philadelphia, a group dedicated to teaching ESL. I have taught levels 1 and 2 (of a 5 level program). My approach to teaching is based in Communicative Language Teaching. Language is the foundation of how we communicate with each other. In the classroom I structure lessons to encourage interaction between students and between students and teachers. A community is like a body. Body parts communicate to maintain a functioning being. The better the communication, the healthier the body. The ESL students I teach are part of the community body of Philadelphia. The better they can communicate, the better for the body.
